Objectives of lesson:


Materials Needed: 


HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language.  This is the language used to write web pages.  For example, at the menu bar above, click on "View" and then click "Source".  This is the language that has created the web page, EducatingTeachers.com.      If you are interested in creating your own webpage, knowledge of HTML is handy.  While it is not a necessity, the background and foundation of HTML will provide participants with a stepping stone to becoming more technologically advanced.

To complete this lesson, you will complete an HTML tutorial of your choice.  Please select from one of tutorials below, or feel free to search out your own HTML tutorial.   

PageTutor.Com - http://www.pagetutor.com/pagetutor/makapage/index.html  This site will walk you through learning HTML.  It is set up in a sequence of easy to follow lessons. 

Design Web Sites.Com - http://www.design-web-sites.com/design/HTML_tutorial.asp?rid=1&pid=2&tc=9  This site has a brief but straightforward explanation of HTML. 

Writing HTML - http://www.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/tut/index.html  This is a great site that is specific to teachers.  In this tutorial, you will create a web page regarding volcanoes.  While you might not have any interest in this topic, it is good practice and application of knowledge. 

A Simple Guide to HTML - http://rd.alphalink.com.au/htmlguide/  This tutorial is specific to your needs.  If you already have a basic knowledge of HTML, this site will provide you with specific HTML codes for your needs.
