Advanced Applications

Advanced Applications is comprised of three different lessons.  These lessons are for participants who feel that they are web savvy and are interested in challenging their technical abilities.  Feel free to select one lesson or them all.  The choice is yours.

HTML

HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language.  This is the language that writes WebPages.  While individuals can use webpage writing programs such as Microsoft FrontPage or Netscape Navigator where you compose websites in WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) format, it is always handy to have a basic knowledge of HTML.  In this lesson, you will select from an HTML tutorial of your choice.

How to create a classroom webpage

This lesson will guide you through the relatively simple process of how to create a website.  This free opportunity can allow students to publish their work online or a teacher to publish homework, classroom expectations, and more online.  In this lesson, are not  required to know the technical language of HTML to compose your website.  (Even though it might be helpful)

How to Create a PowerPoint Presentation

All computers at John Muir Elementary School are equipped with Microsoft Office, which includes PowerPoint.  Here is a tutorial presented by Microsoft that will guide you through the stages of producing a PowerPoint Presentation.
